Request for Qualifications: Large-Scale Indoor Artwork Commission at New Kroger in Madison

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Arts Huntsville and the Kroger Company announce a request for qualifications from interested artists for a large-scale indoor artwork to be located at the soon-to-be completed Kroger Grocery Store #605 at 4579 Wall Triana Highway in Madison. This 16’w x 5’h artwork will have high visibility and will be prominently displayed within the store. The artwork should engage the local community while referencing the area’s history and culture.

The deadline for qualifications to be received is Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
The call for entries is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the greater Huntsville metropolitan region.

Finalists will be chosen based on work samples, experience and their connection to the Madison County community. Finalists will then be asked to submit a proposal addressing the installation requirements. Of the finalists submitting proposals, one will be selected to create the artwork for the new Wall Triana Kroger in Madison, opening September 2016.

The deadline for selected finalists to submit their proposals is July 22, 2016.

Selected finalists will receive $250 for their completed proposal. Payment to the selected artist is $9500 including all materials.

There is no application fee. To be considered, artists should submit three samples of their work (including title, medium, and dimensions), a brief resume and an explanation of their connection to the community to [email protected] by 5:00 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
