Sonya Clemmons is the Alabama Artlady! She was honored to be Panoply poster artist of 2022. She has been a working artist for 26 years specializing in everything from drawings to large murals, in a variety of media. She grew up in Huntsville and currently resides in Scottsboro. Sonya loves incorporating local community and history into her art. She has been been a contract muralist for Madison County Schools where she has painted 50+ murals. She began an art program in Jackson County, within the court system, for people in recovery called Pictures of Hope. For her 25th year, she received a Resolution from Speaker McCutcheon and a Commendation from the Governor.
