Rocket City New Music

Rocket City New Music brings contemporary classical music to Huntsville, Alabama. Founded in 2021, RCNM connects elite composers and performers from across the country, building a new home for today’s most exciting music in the Rocket City.

The organization stages immersive, multi-sensory concerts that break from concert hall tradition. Past and upcoming performances take audiences through Huntsville venues like Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, The Electric Belle at Stovehouse, and the Avilution hangar at Huntsville International Airport. Each show pairs world-class musicianship with unexpected settings, from progressive art walks to fully immersive productions.

RCNM is led by Executive & Artistic Director Sean Ritenauer, Principal Percussionist of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra since 2016. Under his direction, the organization has drawn musicians from major music hubs including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Nashville to perform in Huntsville.
