Jeanne deFrance

Ms. deFrance is a serious potter of 21 yrs. Stoneware is her clay of choice for wheel thrown and slab formed work. Born and raised in New Orleans, Jeanne feels that she is shaped by intensity of many kinds. To name a few: texture, color, smell, sensuality, heat and nature. Jeanne’s constant goal is to go beyond what she already knows and into that which is new, unexplored and mysterious. In her current work, Jeanne seeks to reflect the forces of life such as tension, calm, struggle, change, harmony, perseverance, and being. Within her forms these forces engage, resolve and become one. Pottery is her passion. Jeanne is a Huntsville resident of 15 yrs. The Little Green Store and Harrison Bros. carry her work.
