Rocket City-native Chris Ware is a sci-fi / fantasy artist who describes his art as “ethereal with a whimsical and dark surreal style,” often pulling inspiration from the world he experiences in dreams. His work explores ethereal internal landscapes featuring abandoned Space Age machinery presented in a dystopian, yet dreamy aesthetic, with the goal of evoking a childlike wonder and feeling of adventure in his works. He has also become known for his hilarious spacey pet portraits and the randomness of his weird creatures. He primarily works in acrylic ink and graphite, painting on watercolor and riveted sheet metal. He is an award-winning, published artist, and a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. His work serves as commentary on our internal condition, both individually and collectively, as well as a rediscovery of our childlike nature and true potential.
