2017 Concerts in the Park Returns June 5 through August 7

2017 Concerts in the Park Season

Arts Huntsville, in partnership with the City of Huntsville’s Department of Parks and Recreation, is proud to announce the 2017 season for Concerts in the Park. The free concert series showcases local musicians in a mix of musical genres from rock and roll, Americana, pop and top 40 to latin and jazz every Monday night June 5th – August 7th.  The concerts will be held in downtown Huntsville on the Huntsville Museum of Art outdoor stage in Big Spring International Park from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The series is free to the public; concertgoers should bring their own seating. Leashed pets are welcome.

Handicap parking will be available in the Huntsville Museum of Art parking lot and additional parking is available for free in the Monroe St. garage.

The menus include Asian fusion from Pearl Asian Cuisine, New Orleans flavors from Cajun Cravins, BBQ favorites from Badd Newz BBQ, mega-burgers from The Piled High Grill, a variety of shaved ice choices from Iceworks, homegrown iced teas from Piper and Leaf, cool treats from Suzy’s Pops, cakes and sweets from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream Truck, as well as hot dogs, sandwiches and a great selection of Summer park food from Tha Food Truck and Washington Square Catering. Banjo’s Treats will offer treats for the pets in the attendance at Concerts in the Park.

Concerts in the Park is a co-production of the City of Huntsville Department of Parks and Recreation and Arts Huntsville. This year’s concerts are presented with the support of AT&T, Progress Bank, Hexagon PPM and Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, and Russ Rusell Commercial Real Estate. This year’s concert lineup features 19 performance groups:

June 5:  Kaleidoscope & Juice

June 12: Winslow Davis Ensemble & Calypso Vision

June 19:  JED EyeGroove

June 26*: The U.S. Army Materiel Command Bands 

July 3: Old Towne Brass & Huntsville Concert Band

July 10: 3X GraceCristina Lynn

July 17: Like Sons & Denim Jawbones

July 24: Bluewater Road & Good Vibe Nation!

July 31: Listen Local Huntsville ft. Rob Malone and Alan Little & Dave Anderson and Rob Aldridge

August 7:  Mambo Gris GrisBig Daddy Kingfish

The June 26th concert is part of Huntsville’s Armed Forces Week celebrations. Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville are proud to present Redstone Arsenal’s own Army Materiel Command Bands. The evening will end with a downtown fireworks display.

“We love featuring our region’s great musical talent each year at Concerts in the Park, especially this year after the city’s beautiful renovation of Big Spring Park,” said Allison Dillon-Jauken, executive director of Arts Huntsville. “We are proud to work with the City of Huntsville’s Department of Parks and Recreation to provide free, family-friendly entertainment featuring local musicians and food trucks every Monday night in the heart of the city.
