Concerts in the Park – 2020 Series

Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville’s Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2020 Concerts in the Park season returns on Monday, June 1st with the first three concerts to be streamed virtually. A Huntsville summer tradition, the concerts are held over ten weeks every Monday evening from June 1st through August 3rd. The series showcases local music talent in a mix of genres from rock, folk and country to Latin, dance, R&B, top 40 hits and music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Arts Huntsville and the Parks and Recreation Department are staging the initial concerts via live stream on Arts Huntsville’s Facebook page @artshuntsville beginning at 6:30 pm on June 1, June 8 and June 15, 2020. 

Concerts in the Park is a co-production of the City of Huntsville Department of Parks and Recreation and Arts Huntsville. The 2020 Concert series is presented with the support of AT&T, Progress Bank and Cumulus Broadcasting. The series’ initial live stream concerts are staged in partnership with the Von Braun Center’s Mars Music Hall, providing local bands with a premier venue for the virtual kick off to Concerts in the Park. Currently, the virtual Concerts in the Park lineup features the following local bands:

As the Huntsville community continues to combat COVID-19, Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville Parks and Recreation Department are monitoring recommendations for outdoor performances and community gatherings.

June 3 – The Beasley Brothers & Juice
(popular covers from the 60s to today / party band dance music)

June 10 – LaFrancis Vibes & DMR Soul
   (alternative R&B / R&B, Soul)

June 17 – Lana White & Mike Ball & the Madison Mountaintop Band
     (soft rock / bluegrass)

June 24 – Armed Forces Week Concert with the Ft. Benning MCOE Band
This concert will end with a fireworks display! In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the VBC Concert Hall.

July 1 – Wilbert Maldonado Rivera, a special cultural exchange concert ft. authentic Puerto Rican Folk music.
In the event of rain this concert will be moved into the VBC Concert Hall.

July 8 – Bacchuneers & Winslow Davis Ensemble
(New Orleans jazz / electric jazz-fusion violin)

July 15 – Big Daddy Kingfish & JED Eye
 (a night of 60’s music in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Lunar Landing)

July 22 – Tres Locos & Dirt Circus (rock)

July 29 – Wanda Wesolowski & Alan Little (singer-songwriters)

August 5 – Unorthodocs & Milltowne
   (80’s rock / country and Americana)
