Huntsville Botanical Garden is a 112 acre oasis, open year-round and features the nation’s largest seasonal butterfly house and nature center, a picture perfect aquatic garden, spectacular nature trails, and numerous specialty gardens and plant collections. There is an interactive Children’s Garden that offers something for kids of all ages – a dinosaur garden, a space garden, a rainbow garden, a maze garden and much more. We have five distinct festivals each year. Beaks and Barks Festival is mid-January through the end of February.

Our birding trail is designated as a birding hotspot and we welcome friends of the four-legged variety to visit us during this time. When the garden begins to awaken we celebrate the season with Huntsville Blooms, mid-March through April. Butterflies fill the Butterfly House May through September, and the Scarecrow Trail is September and October. When most gardens go dormant for the winter, the Galaxy of Lights brightens the night sky and the hearts of the entire Tennessee Valley from mid-November through December. This award-winning light display is among the largest in the nation, featuring custom-made displays – all created by a volunteer force working year-round to design, build and maintain this amazing display.

The Garden is a privately run garden which receives a majority of its support from garden members, supporters and corporate donors. With over 7600 member families and our volunteers, the Huntsville Botanical Garden is truly the community’s garden. The Garden has a tea room, gift shop, and indoor and outdoor facility rental options. The Garden is located at 4747 Bob Wallace Ave in Huntsville, Alabama.
