Where did the name Panoply come from?
The word Panoply (pa-nə-plē) comes from the Greek panoplia and means "a magnificent or impressive array".
When is the Panoply Arts Festival?
It is held annually in April. The next festival will be held Friday-Sunday, April 27- 29, 2012.

Where is the Panoply Arts Festival held?
Downtown Huntsville, Alabama in Big Spring International Park.
How much does the Panoply Arts Festival cost?
All children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Purchase a weekend Panopass for $10 or a day Panopass for $5. Weekend Panopasses will only be sold up until the opening Friday of the Panoply Arts Festival. You may pay by cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), or make your check payable to The Arts Council, Inc. Panopasses will be sold prior to Panoply through The Arts Council Offices and at various outlets. Watch this site for specific outlet locations.
Where should I park?
Parking for the Panoply Arts Festival is available at numerous locations easily accessible to Huntsville's Big Spring International Park. The Huntsville City Garage located across from the VBC may be entered from Monroe Street. Parking is also available at the Colonial Bank building located at the corner of Church Street and Williams Avenue and may be entered via Fountain Circle. The Von Braun Center South Hall Parking Garage, located adjacent to the VBC, can be entered from Pollard Street. In addition, parking will be available in the new parking lot located next to the VBC North Hall and Lot-K located on Clinton Avenue. Parking for disabled patrons is available in all lots. All city public parking is $4.00 and $5.00. All of the parking mentioned above is within walking distance of the Panoply Arts Festival in Big Spring International Park. Many other surrounding businesses will also open their parking lots for Panoply Arts Festival guests.
Do I need to bring anything to the Festival?
Chairs are provided at all stages at Panoply. Food and beverages are available through our many and varied vendors, and coolers and outside food and beverages not allowed. Strollers or small wagons are helpful for small children. You may want to bring sunscreen or a hat, and there are many opportunities to find shade in the Park and at our covered stages. Please note that no pets or animals are permitted at the festival, with the exception of service animals accompanying handicapped individuals.
Does the Panoply Arts Festival need volunteers?
The Festival Chairmen, Jan Dorning and Cathy Callaway, are currently recruiting volunteer committee chairmen from within the Huntsville/Madison County area. Panoply is wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and you, along with your fellow coworkers, club members, church friends, neighbors, families, and more are welcome to contact the festival Chairmen or The Arts Council staff to sign up to volunteer. Shorter volunteer shifts at the festival are also available, and you can signup for those by clicking here to submit a Volunteer Application.
