The Huntsville Youth Orchestra (HYO) is in its' 49th year of providing North Alabama's finest ensemble experience for young musicians. HYO's mission is to provide a rewarding and challenging experience for its members by means of active participation in the performance of good music. This is accomplished through learning, rehearsing, and giving public performances under the direction of highly qualified, professional conductors (who are also teachers and performing musicians). For each performance, the pieces are carefully selected to challenge and stimulate development of the particular skills of each group of performers.
