Since 1967 the Huntsville Literary Association (HLA) has sparked interest in the literary arts. With over 230 members, HLA sponsors or partners with other groups to offer activities and events for anyone who delights in books, poems, and plays. • Publication of POEM, a national literary magazine • Young Writers Contest for area students • Performances by the American Shakespeare Center acting troupe • Sunday Salons by renowned guest authors • Fiction and poetry workshops for adults • Poetry Out Loud for high school students, Dues are the primary source of income for supporting HLA’s successful programs.
