Susan Clanton
With each piece, I attempt to develop the interplay of warm and cool colors. Being naturally drawn to rich and vibrant colors, I explore their use to paint realistic and expressive subjects. Each subject is commonly distinguished by unique motion, shape, texture, and relative size that I try to capture. Additionally, molding and orchestrating a variety of complementing, as well as contrasting, color schemes allows me to capture certain emotions portrayed by specific people, animals, environments, and moments or periods in time. Whether I am painting a person, pet, or farm animal, I enjoy the challenge of transferring individual personalities of the subject onto canvas.
