A fearless love of beauty, bold exploration of nature (internal and external), a fascination with structure, movement, and a desire to get to the spiritual essence of things fuel the art of Christina Wegman. Born in 1985 in Northridge, California, she has lived and traveled across the United States, Canada, and Europe and currently resides in Huntsville, AL. She is interested in writing, languages (particularly German, in accordance with her own German heritage), philosophy, music, Eastern Orthodox iconography, and knitting, and her contemplations on these interests often combine to provide inspiration for her artistic stylings and themes. Her artistic education has come mostly by means of observation, meditation, visiting museums, and long conversations with her mother, who is also an avid seeker of beauty and lover of the arts. For the most part, she works in oil on canvas, but occasionally enjoys drawing as well.
