JavaGalleria “Meet-and-Greet”—Join The Arts Council, Inc. and enjoy the works of featured artist Dennis A. Leatherman on Tuesday, 9 February 2010 at the JavaGalleria, located in Sam and Greg’s Pizzeria/Gelateria at 119 Northside Square.

While creating a technique for architectural drawings, Leatherman developed his current style which he hopes will increase people’s appreciation of the detailed textures and design founding the wilderness.  Says he, “…The drawings I create are motivated by my love of nature and its design.  The black-and-white theme has always fascinated me whether it is artwork, photography, or film.  The photographs of Ansel Adams and the drawings of Rembrandt and Van Gogh have been my inspiration…I want to represent the beauty of nature…”

The Meet-and-Greet takes place from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Leatherman’s works continue on display through the Monday, 8 March.  A percentage of JavaGalleria sales goes towards The Arts Council's Arts Education programs.  Gallery/Artist Info:  (256) 519-2787 (ARTS), ext. 206; Café info/hours:  (256) 533-9030 or www.samandgregs.com.
