Carey Link is from Huntsville, Alabama. She has been writing poetry since high school. Her work has appeared in HOSPITAL DRIVE, BIRMINGHAM POETRY REVIEW, POEM and elsewhere.
Carey has been a judge for the Huntsville Literary Association Young Writers Contest. She also volunteers with The Handy, Uncapped Pen to mentor other writers.
For Carey, writing poetry has lead to self discovery and healing.
When I write a poem,
I listen to the colors of a whisper
that rides on the shadows
of my dreams–
and follow the asymmetrical revelations
of metaphors and allusions–
the circle of a prayer
born between twilight and dawn.
